The {{man label|Event Description Editor}} tool is an addon that allow you to find and replace a text string in the event description of multiple events.

==Usage==
Once this plugin addon has been installed:
* Select Menu {{man menu|Tools > Family Tree Processing -> Event Description Editor...}}
* From the '''Undo history warning''' dialog you can choose {{man button|Stop}} or {{man button|Proceed with the tool}}.
* The '''Options''' {{man label|Option}} tab is displayed with the following:
** {{man label|Events:}} '''All Events'''(default) - The events selected by a custom or generic filter.
** {{man label|Find:}} The (sub)string that should be found in event descriptions.
*** {{man label|[ ] Replace substring only}} - If this checkbox is ticked, only the found substring will be replaced with the replace string. If True only the substring will be replaced, otherwise the whole description will be deleted and replaced by the new one
You can select {{man button|Close}} to exit with no change, or enter the options you need changed and then select {{man button|Execute}} to process your changes; once completed the tool will display the {{man label|INFO}} dialog showing the total number of change changes made.
