Portuguese Translations issues

Mixed translations?

Hi,

I think there maybe a mistake here.

Both the Index page and the Preface page I reviewed were translated to Brazilian. Is this intentional? If it is, I would need a different page set for Portuguese (maybe named Portugal?). I wouldn't want to destroy anybody's work.

Thank you. User:Pmra

Yes, it seems the same problem. So, what should I do, continue editing or wait for a new set of pages?User:Pmra

Please Reverse Contributions

Hi,

I probably messed up the pages. Could I ask you to revert all my contributions to the old state (Brazilian translations) and create a blank index page for Portugal? I'm not sure I can do it and not very willing to try.

Many thanks in advance. User:Pmra

I'll take another look in at it tomorrow and work out what needs to be done. Sam888 (talk) 02:55, 6 April 2020 (UTC)

Reverse Revertions?

Hi Sam,

I knew that the editing was in old revisions of the wiki. It was an opportunity to reduce the clutter in the current Category indices. Particularly important was consolidating the mis-categorized non-english pages. (Both so they didn't obstruct browsing by the English-only users and so the non-English speakers could find all the translated pages in their language.) The Category indices are almost unnavigable.

Isn't this a forgivable modification of historic pages?

Warm regards Bamaustin (talk) 04:49, 6 April 2020 (UTC)

Manual

Hi, thanks for your edits. Please note Gramps 5.0 is the old user manual, please only edit the current User_manual#Gramps_5.1.x_Manual eg: PT:Manual Wiki Gramps 5.1. I have rolled back your edits and have asked the webmaster to protect the old pages. GulliblePangolin (talk) 12:38, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

PT translation

I believe you worked out an issue with these Portuguese translations being mixed with Brazilian Portuguese? mentioned over on User_talk:Sam888#Portuguese_Translations_issues What was decided? CallMeDave (talk) 06:50, 7 February 2025 (UTC)

Hi thanks for the translation. Di you mean to name a page Pt PT:Gramps 5.2 Wiki Manual - Categories/pt PT‎‎ with Pt PT at beginning and Pt PT at end would you like me to rename?? can you clarify you are not changing the Brazilian Portuguese from Portuguese? See the following two links please.

Patsyblefebre talk, 02:53, 10 February 2025‎
Hello, regarding your first question, I see lots of pages using pt (in several variants, e.g. Pt, PT, pt) as ISO code, some in Brazilian, some in Portuguese, so I think nothing was decided.
.
For your second question, trying to avoid the above issue, yes, I created a page with pt_PT, in an attempt to bring people's (eventual future collaborators) attention to the fact that it is only for Portugal. Please, be my guest to rename it to whatever you feel appropriate. I'll wait before I create or translate more pages. Thank you!

I will help sort this out. Patsy B Lefebre (talk) 02:10, 14 February 2025 (UTC) ( https://gramps-project.org/bugs/view.php?id=10205 )
Patsy B Lefebre (talk), thank you! Pmra (talk) 06:34, 14 February 2025 (UTC)

Patsy B Lefebre (talk), CallMeDave (talk, is this sorted out? Now that I finished the addons Weblate project, I would like to restart with the Wiki. Thank you. Pmra (talk) 05:01, 16 March 2025 (UTC)

naming of pages

Please don't add "Pt PT" to both the beginning and ending of the page name as it is redundant eg: "Pt PT:Gramps 6.0 Wiki Manual - Preface/pt PT" for the English pages only add it to the ending. I will move the page to the correct page name. please follow the advice provided by using the page names mentioned on User:Patsyblefebre/User_manual_translations_check_of_redirects_per_Language#pt_PT, you can see how every other page has been done. Daleathan (talk)

Daleathan (talk) thank you for your help. If I understand correctly, where there is [[pt_PT:Gramps 6.0 Wiki Manual<whatever>/pt_PT]] there should only be [[Gramps 6.0 Wiki Manual<whatever>/pt_PT]] Pmra (talk) 16:20, 29 March 2025 (UTC)
