tweak on the 'address' entry
Bamaustin (talk) 07:32, 20 January 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for the tweak on the 'address' entry of the Glossary with the ID addition. MediaWiki is supposed to not need ID spans when there are marked headers. But those subheading links aren't working reliably today.

Unfortunately, the ID that was added was a conflicting duplicate from the previous Glossary term.  Changed it to be usable like: [[Gramps_Glossary#address|address]]

:: Thanks, Grand Kids visited and plans went out the door. Sorry for the partial edit. GulliblePangolin (talk) 21:53, 22 January 2020 (UTC)

Add Wikipedia:Citation_templates
@Sam888 Would it be possible to install Wikipedia's:Citation_templates or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Reflist on the Gramps wiki? (We don't need the full template just a minimal version that allows us to do reflist would be good? The instructions are here I'd do it but it talks about needing extensions on mediawiki enabled. ==Add advice to download page?==

I originally found the Gramps project via the Gramps reddit. At the top of the page the following advice to convert to sqlite is given. My question is this true or official advice and should added to the download page also? GulliblePangolin (talk) 23:27, 24 January 2020 (UTC)

This is likely to become a non-issue.

As the Reddit thread echoes, there was a discussion started today about removing the BSDDB backend.  But their discussion has changed towards making future releases still read the old DB... but automatically convert to the new DB.

The whole process will soon become completely transparent. So there's no need to add complexity to our process.

:: Ok , but it has not happened yet so people would be experiencing the issue described and blaming Gramps! GulliblePangolin (talk) 23:29, 26 January 2020 (UTC)

Downloads page: remove debian jessie backports
>> Linux and BSD distributions: unable to find jessie backports? should I remove ? https://packages.debian.org/jessie-backports/gramps)

Yes, but I'll do it right now as the whole jessie-backport's mirror was removed March 2019!

I'm confused. What is the whole point of editing this wiki if you strictly forbid me from helping? I can't just edit one page, I need to improve grammar. --Chills (talk) 19:53, 22 February 2020 (UTC)
