The language is set in the {{man menu|Edit -> Preferences..}} tabs {{man label|Display}} and is described in the [[Gramps_5.1_Wiki_Manual_Gramps_{{Version manual}}_Wiki_Manual_-_Settings#Place_Format_Editor|Place Format Editor]]. This is used as the preferred language for place names and types which are imported. The default language is German.
