Gramps 3.4.3 released

Version 3.4.3 has been released, the ““Whenever life gets you down, Mrs. Brown”“, a maintenance (“bug fix”) release.

The main changes are:

  • Sorting of names, places etc. uses the International Components for Unicode (ICU) libraries which resolves many bugs particularly on MS Windows, and ensures that sorting is the same for all platforms.
  • Addon checking and download works again.
  • A large number of fixes to Narrative Web. In particular, media objects attached to events and sources are now output.
  • Many other bug fixes.
  • Various updated translations: da, de, es, fr, it, nb, nl, pt_BR, pt_PT, sv, uk.
  • See the changelog for more details.

The latest releases can always be found on our Sourceforge page.

When I try to open Gramps after downloading the app to my new MacBook OX 10.8.2 via Safari 6.0.3, I get this message:”Gramps is damaged and can’t be opened. Eject the disk image.”
    How can I successfully download?

    Hi,

Is it possible to make the different OS-versions use the same Python, and BSDDB?

I’ve got Dropbox and put the genealogy file in it, so I could use it on my Win7(Tower) as on my Mac(Laptop). Only 1 problem: the windows version uses python:2.7.2 & BSDDB: 4.8.4.1 while Mac version uses python: 2.7.3 & BSDDB: 4.8.4.2. Both are GRAMPS 3.4.2-1 version.

Is it possible to get them equal?

    Regards,
    Vincent

This release seems to have broken baptism and burial dates, when used as a substitute for birth/dates, showing in italics. They now appear the same as regular dates. Please fix this issue! It was one of my favorite things about Gramps.

Where is the windows x64 bit version of Gramps 3.4.3, i can’t see it on sourceforge, there is only 32bit version…

    Have you forgotten something? ;-)

    Regards
    Kim.

I got the same message as Norm. My Lion version is 10.8.3 – so it’s “Mountain Lion”.

    Application package documentation informs:
The current version of the application (3.4.3) should run on Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) on both Intel and PPC computers, Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and 10.7 (Lion).

I guess there is no installation version for the newest OS verson yet.

When I try to install and run Gramps V3.4.3-2 after downloading the app to my COMPUTER, via Safari 6.0.3, I get this message:”Gramps is damaged and can’t be opened. Move it to the trash.”

My computer is MacBook PRO (build in 2012) AND OSX 10.8.2

I was wondering the same thing, Kim.

Will there be a win-x64 version of 3.4.3 available for download?

  • thark

i have the same problem as norm above – OS X appears to think that the application is damaged and asks you to trash it when you attempt to open the app.
